Chapter 4 was very distressing and my heart definitely broke into at least 14 pieces. For me, it was the easiest of the trials to solve (outside of the infamous 11037), but the fact that it even happened at all was something I didn't expect.

Yeah, it was quite obvious what had happened. But, I didn't expect them to go as far as to nearly murdering everyone! (I actually knew what 11037 was the first time I saw saw it, hahahaha, the trial was easy for me.)

11037 made me laugh when I first read it. It was kind of like the game accidentally spoiled the entire first trial. But also, the first trial was probably my favorite because of how frantic and poorly-planned that murder was. Everyone else learned from that and got clever, but my precious baby the murderer reacted exactly how I imagine someone would react after they killed someone that they weren't exactly planning on doing in.
Oh! But another surprise was the actual first death. I knew what Dangan Ronpa was all about, but I didn't anticipate it would just kind of spontaneously happen. But I guess that was the point.

Yeah, I don't trust games like dangan ronpa, Because I know I'll have a favourite character and I know something bad will happen! ( Aka. white haired dude In chapter 3 )

I was never good at figuring out who the culprits were, except for the first case. I was a little bummed though because the mastermind was spoiled for me and I wished I could have had the shock factor.
And I tried to guess who did it or who would die and I wasn't really good at predicting.

Yeah, chapter 2 was a bit hard for me on terms of who the murderer was.

Same here. Also, Fukawa as Genosider Syo caught me off guard.

yeah. I think the best twists are the ones that can caught you off guard once revealed, but have enough hints that don't spell it out but it makes sense.

That's one of the things that's great about the game!

Do to my own fault I was spoiled much of the game long before I read it. Most of it was enjoying the hints towards the eventual reveals. I'd say the biggest was the first murder victim (being one I wasn't entirely aware of ahead of time). I didn't quite grasp yet just how much DR was going to subvert typical expectations. Ok clearly the love interest--OH MAN WELP GUESS NOT ANYMORE.
